Gary Kyle - Lead Vocals

I picked up the guitar for one reason, to impress a girl! I had been singing for a while when I decided to take a stab at writing a song for a pretty young lady I was interested in. Just like Bryan Adams said, "I played it till my fingers bled", and it worked. I got the girl, (although I didn't keep her long).

I grew up in Kingwood, a suburb of Houston, and in my senior year of high school a friend and me fronted a cross over country band called "Big Billy Bocephus and the Yee Haws". It was that first stage experience that convinced me that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I started writing original songs in college and I would sing in front of anyone who would listen. Fortunately for me, I lived in one of the best party houses in Denton so there were often large crowds around on the weekends to soothe my performance bug. People liked what I was doing so that added fuel to my fire. After six years of college and a degree from The University of North Texas (no I'm not a doctor), I was ready to make music my full time job.

Since graduating, I have been playing in Honky Tonks and dancehalls all over Texas, Okalahoma, and Arkansas with my "No Standards Band. From ballads about lost love to nights out on the town with the boys, my musical style is as diverse as the lyrics that accompany it. I owe my diversity to having five brothers and sisters, all older that had very different tastes in music.

As a kid I remember listening to Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Kiss, The Cars and my two "favorites", Billy Idol and Motley Crue. Later, in high school, I was inspired by Alabama, the original CCR, Steve Miller Band, Lynard Skynard, Robert Earl Keen, Don Williams, and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

When people ask me what kind of music I play it is hard for me to label it. It is country with some southern rock and a twist of whatever else you might hear in there. All in all I think it's a mix of some feel good, make you cry, wanna dance, good-time music.

Frank Huezo - Lead Guitar

Conceived in the Managua, Nicaragua and raised in Houston, Texas, I started playing guitar at 13 and have been playing lead guitar in performing groups steadily since the age of 15. During this time I have had the opportunity to play just about everything, from Country to Jazz. Currently I am a graduate student in the music program at the University of North Texas. I divide my time between studying by day and feigning reluctance while taking a shot on stage at a Gary Kyle gig. Some of my major influences include Albert Lee, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson, Buddy Guy and Jim Hall, but most of all I am trying to keep my playing original and fresh. I just hope to be one of the lucky few who make a living doing what they love.

Joel Bailey - Bass Guitar

I love music.. plain and simple.  I grew up exposed to all types and styles of music by my parents.  Our house was filled with Classic Rock, Folk, Gospel, even New Wave artists like Crowded House and Peter Gabriel.  My parents started me on a traditional instrument: the cello.  Realizing that I would never, ever meet any girls playing the cello, I coaxed my mom into buying me a bass guitar.  I received my first bass and amp at age 15 and never looked back.

My love affair with music continued through my teens as I grew up playing in bands in the New Orleans music scene.  When I moved back to Texas with my family I was lucky enough to land a gig playing with an up and coming band called Sixpence None the Richer.  This was a great learning experience for me and shaped my concept of what an artist can accomplish.  I realized that you could actually make a living playing music.  Since then I've gone on to play with many great bands and artists.  A short list would include Society's Finest, Supercell, The Mermaid Purse, Gary Kyle, Ezra Thomas, Shiloh, Amy Lepard, Wonderfool, the list goes on and on.  I've been blessed to record and perform live with so many great people across all genres (R&B, Country, Rock, Pop, Gospel).  I love to tour and meet new people.  Music has enabled me to see most of North America and Europe.  I have friends all over the world who I would never have met were it not for music.  I currently perform with Clover Basses, Ampeg and Aguilar speakers & Cabs, NMG/Super Puma effects, and SIT strings.

Ben Jackson - Drums

Born and raised in Atlanta Georgia, I began playing drums at the age of eleven.  Since the age of 14, I have been constantly performing in a variety of settings.  I have played everything pop/rock to jazz to country music during this time.  From 2001 to 2006 I attended the University of North Texas prestigious College of Music, where I studied under the world renowned Ed Soph. While I was at UNT, I performed in the famous Lab Bands, the Zebras, the Jazz Singers (as the drummer) and the guitar ensembles. I also performed with the UNT Drumline, the Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, and Orchestra. During my time at UNT I spent a great deal of time freelancing around DFW performing every style from jazz to top 40 music. I have also been part of several original music projects, the foremost of which is The Spike Band. This group performs original music (reminiscent of Stevie Wonder/Sting) all over the DFW metroplex. We recorded a full length album entitled, "What It Is" in January of 2007, and the group continues to perform in Denton and the surrounding metroplex I graduated in 2006 with a degree in Jazz Studies and continue to perform and teach in the DFW area in addition to being the drummer for the No Standards Band.
